This regulation is a replacement of GB/T 17409-1998 General principle for the determination of migration of packaging materials and their products. 

The structure of the former regulation is modified according to GB/T 20001.4-2001 Rules for drafting standards - Part 4: Methods of chemical analysis. 

This regulation is proposed and authorized by the ministry of Health of the People’s Republic of China.
