This exponential growth has been driven by countries such as China and Korea whose remarkable economic development, increasingly open markets in conjunction with an influx of foreign investment have provided the key impetus for expansion in this sector.
To better control chemicals manufactured or imported, China and Korea has taken various measures both in legislation and law enforcement to impose obligations on chemical manufactures, importers and downstream users. Regulations such as China GHS, New Chemical Substance Notification (NCSN) in China, Korea Draft Act on Registration and Evaluation of Chemicals (K-REACH) and legislations on monitoring cosmetics are among those which increasingly affect a huge number of stakeholders in the chemical industry.
