On Jan 28th, the National Health and Family Planning Commission (NHFPC) of China issued Notice No. 57 of 2015 announcing plans to carry out national investigations targeting disinfectant manufacturers and radiology service providers on the implementation status of:
Law on the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases
Law on Prevention and Control of Occupational Diseases
Measures for Disinfection Management
Measures for the Management of Radiological Health Technical Service Institutions, etc.,
According to the released schedule, the enforcement taskforce will be sent out between June and October, before which the disinfectant manufacturers should prepare product inventories and sign the compliance commitment form with the regional competent authority.
All the disinfectant manufacturers will be subject to on-site inspection. The hygiene certificate will be checked in the first place as well as the production environment and layout according to the Hygienic Standard for Disinfectant Manufacturers. Meanwhile, the products will be subject to compliance check including the production process records, raw material inventories, batch inspection reports. For Class I and Class II disinfectants, the hygiene certificate approval letter or the hygiene and safety evaluation report and the filling record will be reviewed.
Stakeholders should attach sufficient importance to the investigation as the investigation result may affect the renewal of hygiene certificates in the future.
