China MEP Consults on the 4th and 5th Batch of Regular Notifications to be Approved under China NCSN in 2016

Notification of new chemical substances is mandatory before manufacture or importation in China. Two batches of China new chemical substance notifications were recently issued for public comment. Notified new chemical substances still need to comply with post-notification duties.

On 30 May, China MEP issued the 4th batch and the 5th batch of China new chemical substance notifications (China NCSN, a.k.a China REACH) to be approved in 2016. The certificates will be issued subject to a period of public consultation lasting 3 days.

4th Batch:

  • Consultation period: 30 May 2016 to 1 Jun 2016

  • Notification types: 5 notifications are to be approved, of which 2 are regular notifications and 3 are re-notifications for increased tonnage band.

  • Modification applications: China MEP also consults on the modification of notifier’s name on two certificates.

5th Batch:

  • Consultation period: 30 May 2016 to 1 Jun 2016

  • Notification Types: 15 notifications are to be approved, of which 7 are regular notifications, 3 are joint notifications, 3 are repeated notifications and the other 2 are re-notifications for increased tonnage band.

Obligations:
