China MEP received 317 substances notified under China REACH Scientific Research Record during 1st quarter of this year.
Statistics of the fifth batch of China’s new chemical substance Scientific Research Record Notification have been published lately on the Ministry of Environmental Protection (MEP) of China. The 5th batch contains 199 entries covering 317 new substances reported during January to March 2012 by 90 plus unique domestic and oversea companies.
27 notifying companies have submitted the SR Record as direct non-Chinese exporters. A vast majority of the rest Chinese notifiers are local Chinese subsidiaries of some multi-national corporations or have background of joint venture or wholly foreign owned venture. Overall, companies having oversea investment from the European Union, the US and Japan occupy respectively 21%, 34% and 38% of all the notifiers. Big notifiers include DIC Graphics Guangzhou, Dow Chemical China, Rohm and Haas Electronic China, Bayer Material China, JSR Corporation and Huntsman China, etc.
Compared with the same period of last year, new substances recorded in SR Record have increased by about 41%. Combined with the previous four batches of SR Record that MEP has received since November 2010, in total about 1800 new substances have completed the Scientific Research Record notification.
