On 18 January 2018, China's Standardization Administration of China (SAC) made a notification to WTO of its National Standard of the P.R.C, Fire Resistive Coating for Steel Structure (Notification NO. G/TBT/N/CHN/1249). It is expected to enter into force 6 months after adoption. The proposed adoption date is 90 days after circulation by the WTO Secretariat.
The standard is established to help protect human health and safety, and ensure the quality of fire resistant coating. The standard clarifies terminology and specifies classification and identification codes, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation and storage of fire resistant coatings for steel structure.
