China SAWS Released Application Forms and Report Templates for Physical Hazard Identification and Classification of Chemicals

On May 28th, China’s State Administration of Work Safety released the final versions of 5 supporting documents of the Measures on the Management of Physical Hazard Identification and Classification for Chemicals (SAWS Order 60).

1. Application form for physical hazard identification of chemicals

2. Report template for physical hazard identification of chemicals

3. Report template for physical hazard classification of chemicals

4. Application form for arbitration of the identification result

5. Application form for arbitration of the classification result

In addition to regular identification, the applicable scope and methods of joint identification and serial identification are further specified in the instructions of the application form for identification (Doc.1)

Chemical classification should be conducted by chemical companies based on the identification result and in accordance with China GHS national standards (GB 30000 series). If the data used for classification are generated by testing, only those from testing institutions accredited by SAWS (not yet nominated) or foreign GLP laboratories are acceptable. For other data sources, literatures and databases for instance, chemical companies can refer to Annex B, GB/T 17519-2013.
