Japanese Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare (MHLW) is seeking public opinions to decide if the online system for the following 9 types of applications in accordance with Poisonous and Deleterious Substances Control Law should be shut down:
Registration of manufacturer/importer of poisonous or deleterious substances
Renewal of registration of manufacturer/importer of poisonous or deleterious substances
Change of the registration to manufacture/import other poisonous or deleterious substances
Notification of discontinuance of manufacturing/importing poisonous or deleterious substances
Notification of assignment of person responsible for handing poisonous or deleterious substances
Notification of changing the person responsible for handing poisonous or deleterious substances
Issuance of the renewed registration certificate
Re-issuance of the registration certificate
Notification of changing the registered information: 1) Name and address of the head office and location of relevant business sites; 2) Facilities and equipment; 3) Business scope of poisonous or deleterious substances.
According to MHLW’s statistics, none of the mentioned applications has been made through the online application system based on Japan’s e-Gov platform since it was launched in 2003. The public consultation will end on May 6, 2016.
