Probably in response to recent accidents involving passengers deliberately grabbing the steering wheels of moving buses to cause accidents, MOT added a new clause into JT/T 999-2015 to specify emergency procedures for handling the problem. For example, bus drivers in such cases are required to pull over immediately, call the police and report the situation to their company.

Four transport industry standards have been repealed, including the Regulation of Automobile Transportation of Dangerous Goods (JT 617-2004), the Rules of Transportation, Loading and Unloading of Dangerous Goods by Automobiles (JT 618-2004), Shore-to-ship Power Supply System Technical Conditions – Part 1: High Voltage (JT/T 814.1-2012), and Shore-to-ship Power Supply System Technical Conditions – Part 2: Low Voltage (JT/T 814.2-2012). The former two standards were removed because the new JT/T617, the Regulation on Road Transportation of Dangerous Goods, has come into force on December 1, 2018 (for an overview of JT/T 617 Series Regulations, please click here).
