The Measures on the Management of Physical Hazard Identification and Classification for Chemicals (SAWS Order 60) came into force on Sep 1st, 2013. Under SAWS Order 60 all Chinese based chemical manufacturers and importers are now required to identify and classify the physical hazards of the chemicals they produce or import. However the specific protocols on how to comply with Order 60 are still unclear. Deputy Director Zhang Hongzhe from NRCC-SAWS helped outline current compliance strategies in his speech at the CRAC on Oct 22nd, 2013.
