NRCC-SAWS Releases 2011 Summary on HC Registration

China NRCC released a summary report on the 2011 national stewardship of hazardous chemical (HC) registration and the 2012 work priorities

Early on 14 February, the National Registration Center for Chemicals (NRCC) under China State Administration of Work Safety (SAWS) has released a summary report on the 2011 national stewardship of hazardous chemicals (HC) registration. The report also identifies work priorities for 2012.

Through the past year, a total of 22,337 companies in the HC industry were granted the registration certificate of HC management and near 40,000 hazardous substances were successfully registered with the NRCC. The agency also carried out an investigation on 5000 companies for their emergency response telephone services. As to the statistic work of hazardous chemical data collection, NRCC said it was satisfied with a self-developed IT tool called “GIS-based Hazardous Chemical Data Application System” which is based on various resources on Google e-geography, chemical and emergency information as well as the past chemical accidents domestic and abroad.
