SAWS Consults on 4 Revised Draft Standards on Major Hazard Installations

The State Administration of Work Safety (SAWS) publishes today four revised draft standards regarding major hazard installations of the chemical industry. These draft revisions will be on a 30-day partial consultation for the competent authorities of work safety at differing administrative levels and a group of state-owned industries of chemicals, petroleum, coal and nonferrous metals. Written comments shall be submitted to the agency by the deadline of 20 August 2012.

The four revised draft standards are:

• The guidelines on the safety evaluation of major hazard installations

• The standard rules on the information management and construction of major hazard installations

• The standard on the identification and scaling of major hazard installations for metals and metalloid underground mines

• The standard on the identification and scaling of major hazard installations for mine waste dumps
