SAWS urges local authorities to complete the registration of hazardous chemicals of priority management for major involved industries by the year's end.
On 15 November, the Chinese State Administration of Work Safety (SAWS) has issued a notice urging the nationwide registration for companies of hazardous chemicals of priority management. SAWS states it will strive to realize a 100% registration rate for major involved industries and establish a national base-set information system of hazardous chemicals by the year’s end.
Companies, if engaged in the manufacture of any substance listed on the First List of 60 Hazardous Chemicals of Priority Management (SAWS order 2011-95) or on the First Directory of Hazardous Chemical Process (SAWS order 2009-116), must report at each city authority of work safety before 20 December 2011.
