According to a news release made by Shanghai Administration of Work Safety in November 2015, Shanghai was in the process of establishing the 3rd batch of Inventory of Prohibited, limited & Controlled Hazardous Chemicals in Shanghai, which will lead to a more effective and comprehensive management system of hazardous chemical substances.
Shanghai has published the first two batches of the Inventory of Prohibited, limited & Controlled Hazardous Chemicals in Shanghai and was the first city in China to have such inventories. The hazardous chemicals in the inventory are prohibited to be unnecessarily manufactured, circulated or used in well populated city areas, except for education and scientific research. According to the inventories, the manufacture and use of the hazardous chemicals should be centralized in certain industrial areas, where there are professional and well prepared staff and facilities that reduces the risks and damages if accidents occur. The 3rd batch of the inventory is under preparation and will be released soon.
