South China Cracked Big Case of Fake Antirust Lubricants

In South China’s Guangdong province, the local authority of product quality supervision, inspection and quarantine in the city of Dongguan has lately cracked the biggest case ever in the province in relation to manufacturing and selling fake imported antirust lubricants.

Enforcers seized in total more than 35,000 bottles of full antirust lubricants and 37,730 empty bottles faking world famous brands of the US made Multi-purpose antirust lubricant WD-40 and the Japanese made POWER LUBE. On-site investigation also found a large number of empty cans for lubricants and release agents that were attached with brand logos in English and Japanese. Tearing off the fake logo marks exposed various Chinese logos. The suspected producer confessed that part of the empty lubricant bottles are collected from the recycling market and wrapped up in a foreign logo before transforming into the imported products. If estimated in genuine market prices, the value of the products concerned could exceed 1,000,000 RMB. The case is still under further investigation.
