South Korea Updated Toxic Substance List and GHS Classification List

Korea’s National Institute of Environmental Research (NIER) has announced the correction of two entries in the South Korea’s Toxic Chemical Substance List (TCSL), according to the NIER Notice No.2014-5 on 11 Mar 2014. In accordance with the updated list appropriate compliance actions should be taken under TCCA one month after the notice’s publication.

The correction is for two kinds of toxic substances, their GHS classification and labeling information has also been simultaneously updated in Korea’s GHS Classification List. The changes for the GHS Classification List will be effective immediately after issuance of the NIER Notice No.2014-6. The details of the revised TSCL and the GHS Classification List are summarized in Table 1 as below.
