Taiwan Confirms to Update Inventory in December

According to the Taiwan’s Council of Labour Affairs (CLA), the revised Existing Chemical Substance Inventory (ECSI) will be available in mid-December. The review of the existing chemical substance supplementary (SECN) dossiers is on the way to completion, with some cases of incomplete materials and data protection issues to be managed. The revised draft inventory will be released on http://csnn.cla.gov.tw/content/Substance_home.aspx when it is available.

During the SECN period from 1st June to 31st August, 2012, over 2,000 substances have been submitted to the CLA voluntarily from over 400 stakeholders. With an aim to provide better management of chemicals, the CLA, together with  Environmental Protection Administration EPA), are also working on amending the Labor Safety and Health Act and the Toxic Chemical Substances Control Act.
