Vietnam’s Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT) published a draft National Chemicals Inventory and sought public feedback. The draft inventory contained 3023 chemicals with CAS numbers that were currently being used in Vietnam. Industry was allowed to nominate their chemicals into the draft inventory by sending emails to the Center of Data and Chemical Incident Support (CECHEDAR) under MOIT.

Are there provisions for confidential nominations? That is, provide information to the government, but chemical identity not publically disclosed.
Hi Karon, unfortunately Vietnam's authority didn't mention CBI protection in their documents. I'm afraid at current stage, they haven't provided channels for confidential nomination. Matt
Is the nomination still limited to the importers or local manufacturers? Can foreign manufacturers or exporters submit the substances details?
Hi Peggy, the authority didn’t specify whether companies abroad could do the nomination. But I personally think the consultation is only open to the manufacturers and importers in Vietnam. Matt
