China to Revise the Implementation Guidance of the 2015 Inventory of Hazardous Chemicals

In early August 2020, the Chinese Ministry of Emergency Management (MEM) published a notice, announcing to solicit comments on the draft revision to the Guidance for the Implementation of China 2015 Inventory of Hazardous Chemicals (Trial).

China Updates the Requirements for Hazardous Substances in Student Articles

On July 23, the Standardization Administration of China (SAC) issued the National Standards Notice No.18 of 2020 to release 13 mandatory national standards and 2 amendments, including GB 21027-2020 Request in Common Use of Security for Student's Articles, which is updated from GB 21027-2007. Requirements, test methods, and marks of student articles are stipulated in GB 21027-2020. The new standard will enter into effect and replace the old one on February 1, 2022.

South Korea Designates 31 New Toxic Chemicals

31 new substances were listed as toxic chemical substances after hazard evaluation under K-REACH. They are still considered new chemical substances in South Korea and require new chemical registration other than the original registrants. Transitional measures were provided for control of these toxic substances under CCA regulation.

Japan Announces 226 New Chemicals under CSCL
