Japan Consults on SDSs Delivery in Digital Forms

On February 1, 2022, Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) consulted to revise the Ministerial Ordinance Specifying the Method of Provision of Information on the Properties and Handling of Designated Chemical Substances, etc under the Pollutant Release and Transfer Register (PRTR) Law to allow SDS delivered via email or web in addition to fax.

Thailand FDA to Update Label Requirements for Hazardous Chemicals

On December 14, 2021, Thailand’s Ministry of Public Health notified WTO of the draft amendments on the Notification of the Ministry of Public Health Re: Labels of Hazardous Substances Responsible for the Food and Drug Administration B.E. 2558 (2015). As proposed, the signal word (danger/warnings) will be a mandatory label element for small containers.

China Seeks Comments on Five New Food Additives and Two Food-related Products

On January 29, 2022, China Nutrition and Health Food Association issued a notice to open five new varieties of food additives for public comments, including three new enzyme preparations, one new processing aid, and one food additive with expanded usage. Any comment can be sent to zqyj@cfsa.net.cn prior to February 28, 2022. Later on February 8, 2022, China National Center for Food Safety Risk Assessment (CFSA) announced to solicit public feedback for two new varieties of food-related products, including one new variety of food contact material (FCM) resin, and one FCM resin with expanded application scope. Any feedback can be sent to biaozhun@cfsa.net.cn before February 27, 2022.
