Background
Greenpeace East Asia Beijing office is working with SUBSPORT project, a LIFE funded project of the European Union, to organize a forum on chemical substitution in Hangzhou, China. The forum aims to provide a platform where industry and policy makers could communicate the method and approaches about safe chemical substitution.
The format and content of the forum is based on the ongoing SUBSPORT training programme, which has been conducted for more than 15 sessions across Europe since 2012. (For more information about SUBSPORT training, go to www.subsport.org). SUBSPORT training helps participants establish a methodical way of practicing substitution in companies. Furthermore, the forum will take real case stories of Substitution, delivered both by Chinese and international companies, as examples to analyze substituting chemicals, and share with peer companies.
