South Korea published the updated list of pre-registered substances under K-REACH. Japan introduced 12 substances to PAC List. Vietnam notified the draft chemical law to WTO for comment. India published Quality Control Order for orthophosphoric acid. Australia proposed to add Dechlorane Plus and UV-328 under ICHEMS.

On April 17, 2024, Korea published the updated list of pre-registered substances under K-REACH. As of March 31, 2024, a total of 237,385 pre-registration applications were submitted for 17,467 chemical substances.

Vietnam Releases New Decree on Implementing Chemical Weapons Convention

On March 27, 2024, Vietnam’s Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT) released Decree 33/2024/ND-CP Implementing the Convention on the Prohibition of the Development, Production, Stockpiling and Use of Chemical Weapons and on Their Destruction. The new regulation shall take effect on May 19, 2024 and replaces the existing Decree 38/2014/ND-CP.

EU Releases New Rules for Ozone-Depleting Substances
Feb 26, 2024
The Council of the European Union has adopted Regulation (EU) 2024/590 on substances that deplete the ozone layer published in the Official Journal of the European Union on February 20, 2024. The Regulation shall ensure the obligations introduced under the existing Regulation (EC) No 1005/2009 are fully implemented, and that more action is taken on limiting the emissions caused by ozone depleting substances (ODS). It shall enter into force on March 11, 2024 and Regulation (EC) No 1005/2009 will be repealed.
